As an entrepreneur, Stan Lapidus raised more than $100 million and founded companies which have achieved a market capitalization of nearly $4 Billion. As a venture capitalist, he directs his fund's investments into validated business opportunities. Mr. Lapidus is a renowned engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur. He founded and served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Itran Corporation, Cytyc Corporation, EXACT Sciences, and Helicos BioSciences. He also joined Flagship Ventures as a Venture Partner and serves as Director on the Board of TransMedics, a Flagship portfolio company Stan holds academic positions at MIT's Sloan School of Management, Harvard Medical School, and Tufts Medical School. He is a founding faculty member of the Harvard/MIT Biomedical Enterprise Program. Mr. Lapidus graduated from the Cooper Union in 1970 with a BSEE degree, and has been elected to the Board of Trustees of that school.
